INQUIZITIVE - 2023

VSSF’S Science Awareness Activities are launched to create an awareness on topics of relevance that enhances science literacy within the student community. As part of the campaign we are hosting webinars on SPACE SCIENCE, QUIZ and an IDEATE CHALLENGE, this is to lay a platform for the SCIENCE enthusiasts to understand and further interact with scientists and experts in this field . While India is celebrating the moon, to create a better understanding a ‘ Free Quiz ’ has been organized as part of the VSSF Lunar Month. It gives an opportunity for learners to understand their aptitude, identify and groom their scientific knowledge and work towards their areas of interest. Winners will be awarded exciting science prices and the opportunity to interact with eminent scientists. Our mission is to ignite the Young Minds to think futuristic in science.

ICAI COMMERCE OLYMPIAD - 2023

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing ICAI Commerce Olympiad for the students from class VIII to Graduation.

The Olympiad will be online & scheduled on 3^rd December, 2023.

International Day of Sign Languages Quiz ( MINISTRY OF EDUCATION )

The International Day of Sign Languages offers an opportunity to celebrate and protect the cultural diversity and linguistic identity of all deaf individuals as well as sign language users. Every year International Sign Language Day is celebrated world over on 23rd September 2023. This day advocates that Sign Language is for everyone and not restricted to deaf community.

Ministry of Education in collaboration with MyGov, intends to host a quiz which aims:

1) To create awareness on the linguistic identity and cultural diversity of 

deaf people and sign language users.

2) To highlight the specific features of ISL and Deaf culture in India. 

Gratifications:

All participants will get an E-certificate.

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सांकेतिक भाषाओं का  दिवस सभी बधिर व्यक्तियों के साथ-साथ सांकेतिक भाषा उपयोगकर्ताओं  के लिए उनकी सांस्कृतिक विविधता और भाषाई पहचान को संरक्षित करने  एवम् उत्सव मनाने  का  अवसर प्रदान करता है।  प्रतिवर्ष 23 सितंबर 2023 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सांकेतिक  भाषाओं का  दिवस संपूर्ण  संसार  में मनाया जाता है। यह दिवस  प्रेरणा देता  है,  कि सांकेतिक भाषा केवल बधिर समुदाय  तक सीमित  न रहकर सभी के लिए है।

शिक्षा मंत्रालय, माईगव के सहयोग से क्विज़ आयोजित करने जा रहा है, जिसका उद्देश्य है:

1. बधिर व्यक्तियों और सांकेतिक भाषा उपयोगकर्ताओं की भाषाई पहचान और सांस्कृतिक विविधता के लिए जागरूक करना।
2. भारत में बधिर संस्कृति और भारतीय सांकेतिक भाषा की विशिष्ट विशेषताओं को उजागर करना।

 

पुरस्कारः
सभी प्रतिभागियों को ई-सर्टिफिकेट दिया जाएगा।

‘Dhai Akhar’ National Level Letter Writing Competition

 

Department of Posts is organizing the Dhai Akhar Letter Writing Competition at National Level on the theme “Digital India for New India”. Desirous participants may participate in the campaign.

The campaign will be conducted from 01st August to 31st October

Topic for the letter writing of Dhai Akhar 2023-24 will be “Digital India for New India”

The letter can be written in English or Hindi or any Vernacular and will be addressed to Chief Postmaster General of the respective Circle. The details of Chief Postmaster General of different Circles are available at given link.

The competition will be in the following categories: 

(i) Up to 18 years: - 

(a) Inland Letter Card Category 

(b) Envelope Category 

(ii) Above 18 years: - 

(a) Inland Letter Card Category 

(b) Envelope Category

The embossed envelope/ envelope with stamp affixed for plain A-4 size paper letter and the Inland Letter Card (ILC) will be the permitted stationery 

 The letter can be written on plain A-4 size paper with a word limit of not more than 1000 words, or in an Inland Letter Card (ILC) (not more than 500 words) 

 Letter must be hand written and in any case, no typed letter will be accepted

Eligibility 

Any citizen of India can participate in this competition. There is no minimum or maximum age prescribed for participation. Any citizen of India can participate in respective category according to his/her choice and age. The participants have to give a certificate of their age on the letter such as “I certify that I am below/above the age of 18 as on 01/01/2023”. In case of winning entries, the age and other ID certificates will be verified by the respective circle before sending the best three entries in each category to Directorate. 

Selection Procedure 

The best 03 (three) entries in each category will be shortlisted by every Circle and prize will be awarded to these 03 entries at Circle level. 

These best 03 entries of each category ( 12 in all) chosen at Circle level will be sent to the Directorate for further evaluation of final best 03 entries in each category at the National Level.

QUIZ ON CYCLONES

On the backdrop of huge loss of life and property due to cyclones over the North Indian Ocean, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations (UN) took the initiative to establish the WMO/ Economic & Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP) Panel on Tropical Cyclones (WMO/ESCAP PTC) in 1973 to save the life and property from the vagaries of cyclones affecting the countries in the Bay of Bengal & Arabian Sea region. At present there are 13 members in the PTC including Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Yemen. 

In 1973 itself, India Meteorological Department (IMD) was given the onus to act as WMO recognized Regional Specialised Meteorological Centre, New Delhi (RSMC New Delhi) to provide advisories w.r.t. cyclonic disturbances developing over the North Indian Ocean. We are commemorating 50 years of formation of WMO/ESCAP PTC and RSMC New Delhi, which have helped in minimizing the death toll to double digit in the region due to cyclones in recent decades. As a part of the celebrations, the IMD is conducting a quiz competition to improve public awareness about various aspects of tropical cyclones in the region. 

The main objectives of the quiz competition are to:

1.  Create an awareness on the tropical cyclones over North Indian Ocean.

2.  Promote an understanding among the people in the region about the role of regional cooperation among the member countries of WMO/ESCAP Panel on tropical Cyclones.

3.  To learn about various initiatives by IMD to minimize death toll over the region.

INDIAN ARMY QUIZ

 

The Indian Army is conducting a national quiz competition 2023 to commemorate and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Indian Army’s victory in the Kargil War against Pakistan in 1999 and to draw the attention of students in schools across India regarding the role of the Indian Army in nation building and transformational change. The students of class VI to X are eligible to participate in this quiz. Besides being subjected to rich and unique experience, the participant students/ mentors/ school could also win attractive certificates and prizes in the competition. The registrations are open till 30.09.2023

TOY INTEGRATED STORIES COMPETITION ( MINISTRY OF EDUCATION )

 

With an objective of preserving and introducing the undiscovered rich heritage of Indian Toys to the present generation, the Ministry of Education in collaboration with MyGov is hosting an All-India Competition namely Toy- Integrated Stories for Children focusing on Toy Tradition of India to harness the boundless creativity of budding authors and illustrators, to transform these remarkable tales of India's toy tradition into vibrant and captivating children's books.

The Theme/Subject of the Competition is: ‘Creative children’s book focusing on the toy tradition of India’.

• Participants have to submit a computer-typed manuscript with a roadmap in terms of how toys will be integrated.
• There is no age restriction for this competition.
  
• Participants can submit a manuscript either in the form of an educational toy story or can use the existing toys of urban and rural areas to create a storybook so that children can learn and understand in a joyful manner using toys, games, puppets, etc.
