ECO CLUB SUMMER CAMP - MISSION LIFE ( WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY )

As intimated by the Ministry of Education ,it is to mention that certain subjects, skills and capacities should be learned by all students to become good, successful, innovative, adaptive and productive human beings in today's rapidly changing world. These skills include: environmental awareness including water and resource conservation, sanitation and hygiene. Eco Clubs in schools are an intervention' under Samagra Shiksha to enable students takes up meaningful environment- friendly activities and projects, thereby developing sensitivity and an understanding for the ongoing environmental concerns and the right attitudes and disposition to address them. They are a forum through which students can reach out to influence each other and engage their parents and neighborhood communities to promote sound environmental behavior. Hence, as suggested by Deptt. of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, to organize summer camps during the summer vacations on the theme "Eco Clubs for Mission LIFE:

• The activities should start on World Environment Day i.e. on 5th June 2024

• The activities should be conducted for one week, keeping in mind the theme of this year "Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience " of this year.

• Activities must be devoting one day to each of the seven themes of 'Mission LiFE' viz.

• Learning about renewable energy sources such as solar power; sources of water in the local ecosystem, testing the purity of water and water conservation; tree plantation etc. can be specially emphasized during these camps.

• The camps can be popularized among students through poster and painting competitions, debates etc. eminent environmentalists, academics and NGOs working in this field could be associated with the summer camps.

Rules for Photography Competition

There are two categories for participants : (i) Age under 18 years (ii) Age 18 years and above.

Each participant may submit ONLY ONE photograph on ANY of the three themes provided.

Photo specifications: minimum 900 dpi, JPEG format, under 25 MB, no visible marks/logos.

Basic edits are allowed (Colour enhancement, cropping) without compromising authenticity.

Advanced manipulations or significant alterations within images are not permitted.

Photos containing inappropriate or offensive content will result in immediate disqualification.

The use of Artificial Intelligence to generate images in any form is strictly prohibited.

e-Certificates will be awarded to the participants, along with cash prizes of Rs. 5000, Rs. 3000 and Rs. 2000 to the respective top 3 in each category and theme.

The submission of Photos starts from 13th May 2024 and closes on 27th May 2024 midnight.

Submissions will not be accepted after the deadline.

CoE-SLM reserves the right to reject any photo.

The essay must be an original and unpublished one, in ENGLISH language.

It shall be uploaded in PDF version only.

The word limit is between 1500-2000 words.

Entries must be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12 with 1.5 spacing.

Essays containing inappropriate or offensive content will result in immediate disqualification.

The use of Artificial Intelligence to generate essays in any form is strictly prohibited.

Course Reception

The course will be delivered through online mode. Following steps needs to be noted for joining the course:

Step 1- The participant will create his/her account in IIRS e-learning website and activate the account through a link received in his/her email;
Step 2- The participant will fill the online application and submit a proof of employment;
Step 3- The applications will be reviewed by IIRS, ISRO and eligible applications will be approved;
Step 4- On approval of the application, the participant will receive admission confirmation email with login credentials for ISRO E-CLASS LMS ( https://isrolms.iirs.gov.in);
Step 5- The participant will have to join the daily session as per published course schedule and have to participate in a quiz. The attendance of the participant will be automatically recorded by the system.
Step 6- The participant will submit course feedback through a link available in ISRO E-CLASS LMS.
