PM SHRI SCHOOL



PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Government of India. This initiative is intended to develop more than 14500 PM SHRI Schools managed by Central Government/State/UT Government/local bodies including KVS and NVS in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, and where good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students.

It will nurture students in a way that they become engaged, productive, and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society as envisaged by the National Education Policy 2020.

SUGGESTIVE STEPS FOR PMSHRI SCHOOL

The Below-mentioned activities are only suggestive in nature


Pillar 1 : CURRICULUM , PEDAGOGY AND ASSESSMENT


A. SUPPORT AT BALVATIKA

1. Introduction of I year of Balvatika in existing primary schools would be given priority.

2. Requirement of additional Classrooms (ACR), Toilets, Drinking water facility etc. 


FINANCIAL NORMS

  • Manpower deployment and other teaching learning aids/ materials - ₹. 2.0 Lakh ( Recurring )
  • Additional Support - ₹ 1.5 Lakh ( Recurring )
  • Teaching Learning Materials, indigenous toys and games, play based activities - ₹ 500 per student per annum ( Recurring )
  • Bala Features, Child friendly furniture, outdoor play materials etc. - ₹ 3 Lakh ( Non - Recurring )


B. Teaching Learning Materials for implementation of Innovative pedagogies

 ( For all students from Class I to V )

1. Use visuals in the classroom via infographics that use large images

2. Availability of building block play areas.

3.Books may be made available in the library

4. Visit places of historical and cultural significance, archaeological sites.

5. Indigenous toys and games, puppetry

6. Worksheets and workbooks should be provided.

7. Core TLM may be made.

8. School/teacher level activities

Activities to enhance Community participation and monitoring for universal access, equity and quality

  • The mentor-mentee concept may be introduced in the PM SHRI schools where the mentoring of teachers and school should be conducted, involving retired academicians, officers and community volunteers.
  • Workshops/Lectures/ Programmes for creating Awareness on RTE Act, Learning Outcomes, Holistic Report Card, School Based Assessment etc.
  • Use of Vidyanjali 2.0 Portal
  • ₹ 10 Thousand ( RECURRING )

SCHOOL INNOVATION COUNCIL


Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE has launched School Innovation Council programme for schools across the country. The Programme aims at fostering the culture of Innovation, Ideation, Creativity, Design Thinking and Entrepreneurship in Schools. SIC will promote out of box thinking in school education as envisioned in National Innovation and National Education Policy 2020.

The schools will have to conduct various activities for students and teachers under SIC annual calendar plan. These activities will prepare the ground for Innovation, ideation, and prototype development contests at school, state and national levels. SIC will link schools with Innovation Councils established by MoE’s Innovation Cell at Higher Education Level to further provide exposure to school students.
